TV Malta : about PIConference 2020
Educators from various universities, including Malta, Italy, Lebanon, Slovenia and the United Kingdom, debated the importance of education during the pandemic and came up with arguments for and against online training. and the importance of classroom learning. A private educational institution is considering the pandemic as an opportunity for tertiary level students to continue studying distance learning courses. This came out in a virtual conference organized by Pegaso International Malta, in which he discussed online learning, social distance and the challenges that all this can offer. It was attended by educators and other people involved in this field from various universities around the world.
In comments to TVM, the Rector of Pegaso International, Professor Luigia Melillo, said that in tertiary education, online learning can be better and more beneficial for students.
Presence teaching would certainly always be preferable for certain age groups. While for higher education even distance learning allows better management of time and space and surely we all have to face a new management of education and fully understand the potential of distance learning. ”
At the conference many Maltese and foreign educators and experts spoke about the advantages and disadvantages of online training and also the importance of classroom training.
