The final IAH Capacity Building webinar successfully concluded a four-part series at the end of March.

A total of 1558 participants joined the four webinar sessions from the 17 consortium partner institutions in Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Italy, Spain,France and Slovenia, as well as externally. The Lebanese International University, Philadelphia University in Jordan and Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development in Egypt provided the highest number of attendees.

Each webinar covered a different theme: from Internationalisation of the Formal Curriculum, and Global Skills Development in a Local Context, to Virtual Mobility and the final theme of Diversity and Intercultural Engagement.

MED2IaH is primarily designed to have an impact at system level and trigger reform processes at national level in Mediterranean Partner Countries (PC). MED2IaH will ultimately benefit the whole higher institution sector with the inclusion of all stakeholders (management, academic and administrative staff at universities, students) in project activities.

Campus diversity and intercultural engagement

The EMUNI President, Prof. Dr. Abdelhamid El-Zoheiry, kicked off the four webinar with welcoming words before the participants engaged in a range of topics, including ‘Science Shops as a Tool for Promoting Transgenerational and Transdisciplinary R&I’, and diversity Effects on students Outcomes.’ The topics were presented by key figures from outside and among the MED2IaH partner institutions. The webinar drew the highest number of participants: 680.

Virtual mobility

The Project Coordinator Prof. Dr Nada Trunk Širca from EMUNI University presented the main aims of the project. 

More then 250 participants from all partner institutions attended the event. The target group was reached, and academic and administrative staff actively took part in the following topics:

Global skills development in a local context


The second webinar was successfully completed after welcome words from Nadia Lagarde, the International Relations Vice-Chancellor of the University of Montpellier in France.

The MED2IaH #project successfully held its first IaH Capacity Building #webinar

There were 515 registered participants for the first webinar, mostly from the South Mediterranean countries.
